Why no press release from the airport today?

Now I know that the Irishman, Murphy, is alive and well. In releasing what I called a typically self-adulatory press release saying how well things had gone on Monday, 27 December, the airport tempted fate. It looks as if fate won!

When it snows how does the Airport Web site perform?

After the snow which fell on the evening of Thurssday 16 December the Geneva Airport web site was sure to be tested on the Friday morning. My own tests were very revealing, and depressing.

The airport web site has failed the snow test!

The heavy snow, and resulting closure of the airport, has again proved that the Geneva airport web site is not fit for purpose. Unfortunately, it seems that the management there is in denial!

Two very late flights by business jets of an Irish company : interesting coincidence!

Last night, 25 November, two business jets belonging to a company in Ireland left Geneva airport between 11pm and midnight. Is it a coincidence that Ireland is in the news?

Aviation : the good , the bad and the ugly.

Today, the Sunday of Remembrance and Reconciliation, gives us many reminders of how aviation has been responsible for bad times as well as good. One of the worst, and ugliest, times was on the day of my fourth birthday : Nagasaki!

After the Francophone summit, what aircraft for heads of state?

President Sarkozy had to come to Geneva in an old Airbus A319, but soon he will be upgraded to an aircraft that used to be Swiss. He will certainly be better than the Swiss president, but still far behind President Obama.

All "creatures" great and small

The aircraft of Thursday 26 August showed many levels of "great and small". One intrepid Geneva spotter got up early to photograph a great transport aircraft, but not a small flying bicycle!
